  1. You need 1 of Round or Chuck Roast (I usually go for a 2.5-3.5 pounder).
  2. Prepare 4-8 of Idaho Potatoes (depending on size), peeled & cut.
  3. Prepare 5-8 of Large carrots, peeled & cut.
  4. It's 1 of Onion (I prefer to use red and/or yellow), largely sliced.
  5. It's of Salt & Pepper.
  6. Prepare 1 Teaspoon of Thyme.
  7. It's 1 Teaspoon of Onion Powder.
  8. It's 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder.
  9. It's 1/2 Teaspoon of Paprika.
  10. It's 1/2 Teaspoon of Basil.
  11. Prepare 1 Teaspoon of Sage.
  12. Prepare 1 Package of French Onion Soup/Dip Mix.
  13. It's 1 Package of Brown Gravy.
  14. It's 2 Boxes of Beef Broth.
  15. Prepare of Optional: 1 Cube of Beef Bouillon.

  1. You can brown the roast on all sides in A large skillet to help lock in flavors and help keep the roast together. I choose not to because I like my roast to fall apart when poked with a meat fork :).
  2. Rinse roast and then rub down with all seasonings (Thyme, Onion & Garlic Powder, Paprika, Basil, Sage, Salt & Pepper-- I use A LOT of pepper). Place roast in crockpot. Pour package of French Onion Soup/Mix on roast. Pour 1 box of Beef Broth around the roast. Add Onions around the roast then Carrots. Add last box of Beef Broth. Add package of brown gravy. Lastly, add in Potatoes. Put lid on, set crockpot on low for 10 hours..
