Recipe: Appetizing Patchwork Dinner

  14. Prepare As needed of bacon drippings from bacon cooked in recipe.
  15. Prepare of Mashed potatoes------------------------.
  16. It's 2 cup of mashed potatoes see any of my recipes.
  17. Prepare of Toppings--------------------------------.
  18. Prepare 2 ounce of bacon.
  19. You need of Butter Sauce--------------------.
  20. You need of Drippings of the bacon and the butter from potatoes.
  21. It's 1/3 cup of all purpose flour.
  22. Prepare 2 cup of evaporated milk.
  23. It's To taste of kosher salt and pepper.
  24. Prepare 2 teaspoon of granulated garlic powder.

Enjoy dinner, beer and wine, silent and live auctions, a basket raffle and the always delicious Dessert Dash. Then I made a sauce, made fried rice and we had dinner. The entire time we were eating, I was saying "Thank you for thinking of this!" It was so good! I think I could eat fried rice every day!

Patchwork Dinner step by step

  1. Slice and Crisp the bacon. Save the bacon drippings..
  2. Wash, dry, and slice the multicolored potatoes. Slice medium in size..
  3. Melt the butter in a pan add bacon drippings. Then add the multicolored potatoes and sauté them. Season the potatoes, when fork tender and set aside. Save this drippings butter mixture..
  4. This can be done while the multicolored potatoes are cooking. Brown the ground sirloin with the dehydrated onions add salt and black pepper, to taste. As that is going, make regular mashed potatoes see any of my recipes. Note: The mashed potatoes can be made ahead of time..
  5. Slice the hotdogs on a bias. Panfry them till caramelized..

  11. Pour in the milk. Stirring constantly till milk has thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste. Make sure it is creamy no lumps. Simmer for 7 minutes stirring often. If the sauce is too thick and more milk till thinned out..

It's like a one pot meal. Those are half gallon jars so I won't be cooking for a few days. For dinner, I took out brisket that we had smoked and frozen, made black beans and was going to cook some beet greens from the garden. I had been sewing, stopped and started finishing up dinner. The meat just had to be heated and the greens were washed and ready to cook.
